Just heard on the grapevine that there was a meeting held yesterday at the club. The outcome in a nutshell was that Peter Jackson has bigger ambitions than our Chairman and that Steff Wright is unprepared to lay out more money for quality players. If this is the case then I cant see Jacko staying and again we will be in the mire as once again we will have to find a replacement for him. Only rumour and speculation at the moment but has anybody else heard of this happening at the bank. Also heard that the season tickets have only just reached 500, well short of the 3000 expected this season. The reasons, I think, for this are people are waiting to see who we sign. If the board back Jacko and we get in quality players then no doubt the sales will go up, however if the 1st part of my thread is true then it will have a detrimental effect on sales. Over to you lot!!!

Name me one manager that does not want more money from their chairman? Wenger, Ferguson, Jackson, Fairclough, Tommy Taylor all want more.
They probably have the same ambitions. Simple facts are:
It is Jacksons job to squeeze as much as he can get out of the club, the more he spends the better players he gets, the better his team does.
It is Steff's job to ensure we do not over spend, and go back into debt - and also his job to speculate enough to increase income and get success.
Sounds like a normal meeting between manager and boss at any club or business, so I woudnt worry.

Season ticket sales are just below 800 not at 500. And I would agree with Ncton Imp.

Potentially a headline story impboy29 but a load of gonads, just because we haven't see alot of activity doesn't account for that presumption. We are in the same boat as most clubs in the football league.

As for the expected 3000, it was a target not expected - and season tickets will no doubt fluctuate within the next fortnight before the deadline closes - 2000 again I would imagine though.

Added to the fact Jacko has been away all week so far and not due to return until Thursday or Friday either.

I've got to agree with Npton Imp. I'm glad the manager is beating down the door of the chairman to demand more money. Every impression I've got from Steff is that he wants the club to succeed, however, he seems to need a kick sometimes to get it going. I think Jacko is doing that. He seems far more proactive than Schofield was.
